Biography
Digital Technology academic and educator with over two decades of experience driving innovation in higher education. Specialising in design thinking and software development methodologies, I lead curriculum design, blended-learning initiatives and community outreach projects that bridge academia and industry. As a CSIRO STEM Professionals in Schools volunteer and an Advance Queensland Digital Champion Alumni, I've championed digital literacy, mentored emerging technologists and forged partnerships that amplify research impact locally and nationally.

Research Interests
Current Research Interests
I am currently exploring the causes, measurement, and mitigation of cybersickness in immersive virtual reality environments alongside a PhD student. At the same time, I supervise an Honours project focused on developing an AI-driven chatbot to help bridge the digital divide for Indigenous Australian communities. Additionally, I co-lead a digital twins initiative in higher education to simulate and improve teaching and learning experiences, and I am designing a deep learning model based on the pedagogy–andragogy–heutagogy (PAH) continuum to provide personalised learning pathways for adult students.
Past Research Interests
In the past, my work centred on the feasibility and impact of virtual and augmented reality interventions in clinical settings such as haemodialysis units, and on academic frameworks that utilise game-based, blended, and personalised learning for online and adult learners. I have developed web-based and mobile collaborative authoring tools for emergency management. I also modelled performance optimisation techniques—such as computational offloading, coroutine support, and OS-noise mitigation—for mobile and embedded systems. Furthermore, I conducted empirical analyses of GitHub open-source ecosystems to identify factors that drive project activity and to recommend data-driven development strategies.
