Abstract

The mobile device and applications market continues to grow. Iterative development methodologies facilitate rapid construction and refinement of software products. The iterative methodology of design science allows researchers to apply these techniques in a research context to rapidly develop innovative mobile solutions. Using an initial prototype, we demonstrate mobile data collection techniques can be extended and applied to existing evaluation methodologies to facilitate automated evaluation of products for mobile platforms. Automating evaluation feedback loops results in faster iterations, allowing researchers using design science to rapidly deliver more sophisticated and refined products. The automated evaluation workflow streamlines data processing and storage, improving information quality and simplifying access to collected data. Data is stored centrally for easy export and dissemination. This framework facilitates automatic report generation and customisation of data for individual stakeholder requirements. Future research may include integration with e-data management tools and grid computing to provide greater scalability.
