Research
Research Interests
My research interests centre on improving health outcomes through equitable access to maternity care and innovative approaches to education. I have a strong commitment to exploring access to maternity services, with a particular focus on the challenges faced by women in rural and remote communities. This work seeks to highlight barriers, inform policy, and contribute to strategies that ensure safe, timely, and culturally appropriate care for all women, regardless of location.
Complementing this, I am interested in advancing teaching and learning through simulation and technology-enhanced approaches. I am particularly interested in immersive education and interdisciplinary education that fosters collaboration across health professions, better preparing students and practitioners for the realities of clinical practice. The translation of research into real-world clinical settings underpins my work, as I aim to bridge the gap between evidence and practice to support high-quality, patient-centred care.
Methodologically, my expertise lies in qualitative research, which allows me to capture the lived experiences of patients, students, and clinicians, and to generate insights that drive meaningful change in both education and practice.
