Biography
Profile
Jacqui is an environmental social scientist and DECRA Senior Research Fellow. Her research is interdisciplinary and draws together a range of social science disciplines—including human geography, development studies, sociology, and conservation—to examine issues of environmental justice and change in coastal communities, mostly in the Asia-Pacific.
Her ARC DECRA-funded research examines how moral values shape adaptation to environmental change along the Great Barrier Reef coast to help coastal communities and decision-makers navigate just and sustainable futures.
Jacqui currently sits in the College of Arts, Education & Social Sciences. From 2019-2022 she held a joint Research Fellow position with the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies and WorldFish. She studied sociology at the Australian National University (2012), and holds an MPhil in Environment, Society and Development (Cambridge University, 2014) and a PhD in environmental social science (JCU, 2019).
