    Biography

    A/Professor Kehinde Obamiro is the Centre Lead of the James Cook University Central Queensland Centre for Rural and Remote Health (CQCRRH). He is an accomplished researcher, academic leader, registered pharmacist and public health expert, with extensive experience in rural and remote health, Indigenous health, healthcare access and workforce development.

    He provides strategic leadership for rural health education, workforce development, research and community engagement initiatives across Central Queensland. His work focuses on strengthening the rural and remote health workforce through innovative education programs, collaborative research and sustainable partnerships with health services, government, industry and community stakeholders.

    He has a strong track record of securing competitive research funding from the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), Australian Government and Commonwealth funding programs, non-government organisations (NGOs), and other competitive funding schemes. His research leadership encompasses interdisciplinary collaboration, research translation and mentoring emerging researchers, with a particular focus on improving health outcomes and addressing health inequities in rural and remote communities.
