Roadmap sets out the direction, key priority outcomes and initiatives for the next phase in
Queensland’s journey toward becoming a leading and sustainable world-class innovation economy.
The Roadmap identifies a priority for Queensland to achieve this through strengthened research
business collaborations focussed on the translation of high-quality research into innovative products
and services and commercialisation opportunities.
The objectives of the Industry Research Foundations program are to:
• increase employment opportunities in industry for Queensland graduates within Queensland small
to medium sized businesses
• drive translation of innovative ideas into products, services and processes for future
commercialisation
• support the creation of knowledge-based jobs in Queensland
• encourage the retention of research talent and skills in Queensland.
Tropical North Queensland Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub (Old ID 27718)

The TNQ Agricultural Innovation Hub is anchored as part of the established TNQ Drought Hub and will sit within the JCU ideas Lab in Cairns – on the traditional land of the Yirrganydji people. Under the TNQ Agricultural Innovation Hub (as part of the broader TNQ Drought Hub) JCU will bring together producers, agriculture companies, supply chain businesses, innovators, start-ups, investors, and researchers to drive agricultural innovation in Northern Australia. The TNQ Agricultural Innovation Hub can also leverage the expertise of JCU’s Innovation Advisory Committee (IAC) and Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee (STAC) as/when required to support new project concepts.
The Queensland Decarbonisation Knowledge Translation Hub Collaborative Research Agreement

Under a Grant agreement between UQ and the Queensland Government, the Queensland Government is establishing a 3 year approach to developing stronger relationships with Queensland Universities to progress decarbonisation of the State’s economy. This sub-agreement underpins JCU contribution in demonstrating that the parties wish to work together in The Queensland Decarbonisation Knowledge Translation Hub (Hub) and engage with each other on various research Projects from time to time relating.
