Biography
Tracey Gooding is a Lecturer and Deputy Course Coordinator for the Postgraduate Nursing Online program at James Cook University (JCU). She has a strong interest in research and educational innovation that enhances student experience and support in nursing education. Tracey has co-authored and implemented the CONNECT Framework, an evidence-based approach designed to strengthen student connection with course content, peers, and teaching staff in online learning environments. She also led the development and integration of the Virtual Wellness Hub into JCU’s Master of Nursing program to promote wellbeing and connection among postgraduate nursing students.
With more than 20 years of experience in critical care nursing, Tracey brings a deep understanding of the professional and personal challenges faced by nurses in high-pressure clinical settings. Her research focuses on building resilience and promoting wellbeing among intensive care nurses, with the aim of developing evidence-informed strategies and educational interventions that support mental health, prevent burnout, and sustain a healthy and resilient nursing workforce.

Research Interests
My research interests focus on enhancing wellbeing in high-pressure environments, particularly among ICU nurses and university students. I am passionate about exploring innovative approaches to support mental health and resilience, with a strong emphasis on the role of online learning and digital interventions. Through my work, I aim to develop accessible, evidence-based strategies that foster psychological wellbeing, reduce burnout, and promote sustainable professional and academic engagement.
