Biography
I achieved Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in 2009 and a Master of Science (MS) in Veterinary Medicine in 2011 from Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Bangladesh. I then obtained a PhD in 2018 from James Cook University Australia in the field of Microbiology and Immunology. My PhD project was focused on investigation of possible role of group G Streptococcus in the pathogenesis of rheumatic heart disease (RHD). I completed my first postdoctoral associateship at the University of Massachusetts Medical School USA and worked on immunopathologies of allergy. In 2022, I moved to Australia and joined Prof. Alex Loukas lab at the Australian Institute of Tropical Health and Medicine (AITHM) James Cook University in Cairns, QLD as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. My current investigation focused on the biodiscovery of worm-derived proteins as anti-inflammatory therapeutics.
