Biography
I am a pharmacist with postgraduate qualifications in Pharmacy Practice and Pharmacology, bringing over 20 years of experience in academic leadership, research, and curriculum innovation across India, Malaysia and the UK. My academic practice is rooted in designing and delivering integrated pharmacy programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (BPharm, Pharm D, MPharm-UK, Master in Pharmacy Practice (PG)). I have led initiatives embedding patient-focussed pharmacy education through simulation-based clinical training, interprofessional education, and prescribing-focused pedagogy - aligned with international accreditation standards (MQA, PBM -Malaysia and GPhC-UK). As a health professional academic practitioner, I practice constructivist and student-centred approaches, utilising active learning, blended modalities, and technology-enhanced learning platforms to shape reflective, practice-ready pharmacists. My research focuses on public health, social pharmacy, and evidence-based practice, with particular interests in health literacy, emergency preparedness, and healthcare workforce resilience. I have secured competitive research funding, supervised over 45 research projects, and contributed extensively to scholarly publications. Engaging across sectors, I collaborate with hospitals, NGOs, Indigenous health groups, and professional bodies to embed social accountability and community outreach in pharmacy education. As a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK) and an active peer reviewer, I remain committed to advancing pharmacy practice through pedagogical leadership, impactful research, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
