Biography
Dr Eric Kalo is a Lecturer in the College of Medicine and Dentistry at James Cook University. He holds postgraduate qualifications in medicine and biomedical sciences, as well as a PhD in Medicine. His clinical and academic interests include gastroenterology and hepatology, dermatology, otorhinolaryngology, opthalmology, medical education, and primary care. His research has focused on chronic liver disease, portal hypertension, and transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunts (TIPS), with contributions to national collaborative initiatives and peer-reviewed publications. Dr Kalo is actively involved in undergraduate medical education, coordinating and teaching across multiple disciplines within the medical program. His educational interests include curriculum development, clinical reasoning, and innovative approaches to teaching clinical medicine.
