Biography
With a two-decade foundation in mathematics, statistics and AI, Yvette specialises in synthesizing complex data streams into actionable intelligence. Her unique, multi-layered modelling architecture integrates process-based and machine learning methods to generate authentic, whole-of-system scenarios. When fused with industry expertise, this AI-augmented framework empowers agricultural and industry stakeholders to optimise economic and environmental resilience while navigating the complexities of highly variable and changing climates.
Currently, Yvette holds positions as Director of AgTAC (Agriculture, Technology and Adoption Centre) and Professor in Data Science (Statistics) at James Cook University.
Previous positions include Climate Impacts Scientist (CSIRO), Associate Dean Graduate Research Studies (JCU), Focus Area Chair for Agricultural Weather and Climate Services (World Meteorological Organisation, Geneva) and Associate Editor for the Journal of Agronomy for Sustainable Development.
