Biography

Dr. Manisha Agarwal is working with Singapore campus of James Cook University (JCU) as a Lecturer in Business and Psychology programs. With the background in Psychology and PhD in Tourism, she takes on a multidisciplinary approach to deliver engaging and meaningful learning experiences for her undergraduate and post graduate students. She is also Head of Accreditation for Singapore Campus leading various accreditations including AACSB accreditation for Business School.  Dr Manisha has been leading the AACSB accreditation project at JCUS and has played a key role in successful AACSB accreditation in 2021. She is an active member of AACSB community and has participated and presented in several conferences.  

Dr Manisha has demonstrated exceptional research output, with peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals, including Current Issues in Tourism, Tourism Recreation Research and Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research.  Dr Manisha’s work, focusing on tourist behaviour, tourism management and post COVID travel has garnered more than 300 citations, indicating significant impact in the field. She has recently published a book with Springer publication. She is currently editing a special issue of a scopus Q1 ABDC- B ranked journal.

She is currently supervising one PhD candidate and open to collaborate with scholars, practitioners and PhD candidates in tourism. 
Her research interests include tourist behaviour and understanding of underlying psychological processes in tourists. She is also interested in exploring different methodology to learn more about tourist behaviour and tourism phenomenon such as destination management and loyalty as well as sustainable and responsible tourism.
