Biography
Nagaraja Haleagrahara is the Associate Professor at the College of Medicine and Dentistry. His Research Portfolio interests are diverse including rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes mellitus, neurodegeneration and animal models of human diseases. Currently, his research team at JCU utilize a multidisciplinary approach to research novel anti-inflammatory therapies for rheumatoid arthritis. Nagaraja has managed several peer-reviewed research grants from research institutions in Malaysia and Australia in the past twenty years. Nagaraja proves extensive experience teaching physiology and pathophysiology in the tertiary setting since 1989. He has taught across a range of undergraduate, and postgraduate subjects and content areas. Passionate about supporting students at all levels to become intensely engaged in learning as a lifelong endeavour he aims to focus beyond final grades. Nagaraja has been consistently active in Tertiary Education Research with a keen interest in medical education focusing on case-based learning, blended learning, and learning technologies.
