Umair Qureshi

Dr Umair Mujtaba Qureshi is a Senior Lecturer in Information Technology at James Cook University, Australia. His research and teaching focus on Machine Learning (ML) & Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled Internet of Things Applications, GenAI systems, Wireless Systems and Security and emerging digital technologies. He is particularly interested in applied computing solutions, including IoT systems, intelligent networks, and scalable cloud-based architectures that address real-world industry challenges.

Dr Qureshi is actively involved in curriculum development and innovative teaching practices that integrate STEM, IoT, and AI concepts into computing education. His work also explores the use of practical and experiential learning approaches to enhance students’ logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and industry readiness. Through research collaborations and academic leadership, he contributes to advancing digital technologies and strengthening the impact of Information Technology education.
