Biography
I commenced my academic career at the Mount Isa Centre for Rural and Remote Health (MICRRH), James Cook University (JCU), in 2011 and have since developed extensive experience in rural health education, workforce development, and research. I currently hold a position within the Pharmacy Discipline at JCU and continue to contribute to initiatives through the Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health. My work focuses on strengthening the rural pharmacy workforce through student placement facilitation, professional education for rural and remote pharmacists, and the delivery of multidisciplinary education and training for students and healthcare professionals. I teach across the Bachelor of Pharmacy and other health professional programs, while managing complex projects that require independent oversight of objectives, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder engagement. My research interests include pharmacy education, rural and remote health, equitable access to healthcare services, and the evolving scope of pharmacy practice, with a particular focus on improving health outcomes for underserved populations.
