Ruth Nona

Ruth Nona is a Lecturer in Pharmacy and Year 1 Coordinator in the Pharmacy Program at James Cook University, Cairns. She is a practising pharmacist and pharmacist prescriber with extensive experience in community pharmacy across regional, remote, and Indigenous healthcare settings. Her teaching and professional interests include pharmacy practice, sexual and reproductive health, and preparing future pharmacists for contemporary healthcare delivery.

Ruth is currently undertaking a PhD investigating Australian pharmacists' provision of emergency contraception and the evaluation of clinical practice guidelines. Her research focuses on improving equitable access to emergency contraception, particularly for adolescents, and strengthening evidence-based pharmacy practice to support better reproductive healthcare outcomes.
