Ruth Nona

Ruth is a Lecturer in Pharmacy and Year 1 Coordinator in the Pharmacy Program at James Cook University, Cairns. She is a practicing pharmacist and endorsed pharmacist prescriber with extensive experience across community pharmacy, including regional, remote, and Indigenous healthcare settings. Her teaching and professional interests focus on pharmacy practice, sexual and reproductive health, and the development of future pharmacists for contemporary healthcare practice.

Ruth is currently a PhD candidate researching Australian pharmacists’ supply of emergency contraception and the evaluation of clinical practice guidelines. Her research focuses on improving equitable access to emergency contraception, particularly for adolescents, and advancing evidence-based pharmacy practice to support better reproductive healthcare outcomes.
