Nicolas Lubitz

I am a postdoctoral research fellow with extensive experience in spatial and behavioural ecology with a focus on the drivers of animal habitat use and distribution patterns in the face of global change. Main focal species include sharks and rays, crocodiles and other megafauna, as well as commercial fishes. I am proficient in a variety of methods and techniques including animal telemetry, in-situ environmental monitoring, remote sensing, drone technology and video technology, a variety of statistical models including climate change and distribution modelling, as well as molecular techniques such as genetics and stable isotopes. In particular my research on threatened species such as hammerheads, commercially important fishes such as barramundi and species of public concern such as crocodiles and bull sharks delivers key applied outcomes for conservation, fisheries management and public safety.
