Md Shamsuddin

I have thirteen years of professional experience as a Fisheries Officer with the Department of Fisheries, Government of Bangladesh, where I have worked in fisheries management, aquaculture development, and the conservation and sustainable use of aquatic resources. I am currently a PhD Candidate at James Cook University (JCU), Australia, undertaking research on the comparative chemical risks of plasticiser leachates from conventional and biodegradable microplastics on aquatic trophic networks. My research interests include aquaculture, marine and aquatic biology, environmental pollution, ecotoxicology, microplastics, plasticisers, trophic transfer, and aquatic ecosystem health. I am particularly interested in interdisciplinary research and collaboration at the interface of aquaculture, environmental science, marine biology, and ecotoxicology, with a focus on sustainable aquatic resource management and emerging environmental contaminants. In addition to my fisheries and research experience, I have skills in R programming and biological data analysis.
