Biography

As a JCU graduate, I am passionate about linking the journey to, through, and beyond medical school and securing the future of our medical landscape.

I have worked with JCU since 2013 in a variety of roles - research assisting, tutoring, and facilitating, and now work as the Academic Advisor for 5th and 6th year students in Mackay since 2022. I also enjoy working as a supervisor for medical students on their General Practice rotation, a Medical Educator for GP registrars through RACGP, and as a marker of medical student assessments. I have also previously worked as a tutor for 4th year medical students on rural rotations.

I am a GP located in Mackay, QLD, with a passion for providing high-quality, holistic care for my patients. My special interests are women's and children's health, family planning, preventative medicine, lifestyle medicine, and skin cancer medicine, however I greatly enjoy cradle-to-grave care -- that is to say, I enjoy everything!

Whilst not officially an RACGP supervisor, I provide teaching for RACGP Registrars in the clinic a Health on Central alongside clinical supervision and case discussion.

I attended James Cook University from 2011 - 2016, completing my medical degree between Townsville (years 1-4) and Mackay (years 5-6) and obtaining my MBBS. In 2017 and 2018, I spent my first two post graduate years working in many fields at the Mackay Base Hospital, including obstetrics & gynaecology, paediatrics, psychiatry, general medicine and general surgery. Realising my love of General Medicine, continuity of care, and building a relationship with the community, I left the hospital system in 2019 and worked towards my fellowship, specializing as a General Practitioner in 2021 with the RACGP.
