Biography
Associate Professor Kootsy Canuto is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men’s health researcher whose work focuses on improving health and wellbeing through culturally responsive, community-led approaches. His research spans men’s health, primary health care access, social and emotional wellbeing, and health service reform.
He has extensive experience working in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, health services and researchers to translate evidence into practical improvements in care. His work emphasises genuine community leadership, culturally safe health systems and research that produces meaningful outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men, families and communities.
