Holly Farnan

Holly Farnan is a PhD candidate at James Cook University studying the ecological dynamics of bee hotels, including competition, parasitism and pathogen transmission. Her background includes First Class Honours research on insecticide exposure and heat stress in stingless bees, and applied entomology roles spanning CSIRO, the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, and Sugar Research Australia. Holly enjoys sharing her research with community groups and schools and hopes to inspire others to appreciate insects and the important roles they play in our ecosystems.
