Biography

Healthcare Equity for Children is the vision that drives her academic, clinical and community-engaged work.

She is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Dentistry and Paediatric Dentistry at the James Cook University College of Medicine and Dentistry, Australia, with over 20 years of experience across Australia, the UAE and India. She serves as Subject Lead for Paediatric Dentistry and Preventive Dentistry and Year 3 Coordinator, contributing to clinical supervision, curriculum development, assessment and undergraduate research mentoring, while advancing JCU’s rural and remote healthcare mission through children’s oral health outreach and education.

Dr. Mani completed her Master of Dental Surgery in Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry at Yenepoya Dental College Hospital, securing First Rank and the Gold Medal from RGUHS University. Her leadership experience includes roles as Head of Dentistry at NMC Hospital Dubai and Head of Pediatric Dentistry at KGF College of Dental Sciences, India. An accomplished clinician, academic and researcher, Dr. Mani has published peer-reviewed articles in national and international journals, contributed a book chapter on probiotics and oral health, and presented at leading dental conferences. Her expertise spans paediatric and preventive dentistry, dental trauma, interceptive orthodontics, advanced endodontic therapies, full-mouth rehabilitation under general anaesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation, regenerative endodontics, preventive care, and care for children with special healthcare needs. She is an active member of professional dental societies and has been recognised for her contributions to paediatric dental research and education.
