Biography

Carolynne Joone is a diplomate of the American College of Theriogenologists (Specialists in Animal Reproduction) and a senior lecturer in the field of theriogenology within the Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree. As a theriogenologist, Carolynne's expertise is across domestic (and some wildlife) species, although she has a special interest in small animals and horses. Carolynne's PhD studies centred on immunocontraception in horses, primarily the porcine zona pellucida vaccine. Current research interests include ongoing work in fertility control in horses as well as developing projects in fertility monitoring of threatened native Australian wildlife, such as the green sea turtle.
