Co-authored a widely read article in The Conversation highlighting disparities in prenatal HIV testing across 16 sub-Saharan African countries. Drawing on Demographic and Health Survey data from nearly 65,000 women, the analysis revealed substantial inequalities in access to HIV testing during pregnancy, with coverage ranging from 6% in Chad to 98% in Rwanda. The article emphasised the importance of routine antenatal HIV testing and strengthened health systems to reduce mother-to-child transmission of HIV and improve maternal and child health outcomes across the region.
