But unlike her yellow siblings built by Boston Dynamics #Spotty stood out she was green. Not just any green, but rainforest green. Like green frogs, clean energy, and a future full of possibility. #Spotty had always been different. While others marched in factories or patrolled data centres, #Spotty longed for something more. She dreamed of discovery, of partnerships, and of helping humans tackle real-world research challenges in regional and remote areas. Then, one day, her opportunity arrived, from the edge of Australia’s northeast coast, where the rainforest meets the reef. A letter from the JCU Ideas Lab arrived in Spotty’s digital inbox: “Dear #Spotty, we’ve been watching your journey. Come to #Cairns. We have a home for you one where you can #explore, #learn, and #lead exciting #research missions. We believe the future of innovation walks on four legs and yours are truly perfect.” With a flick of her stabilised tail and a joyful chirp of approval from Veeam Software #Spotty activated her relocation protocol. When #Spotty arrived at the JCU Ideas Lab, she was welcomed like a local hero. "Welcome home, Spotty!" beamed the JCU Innovation team. “You’re not just a robot here. You’re part of our #mission to make regional North Australia smarter, safer, and more sustainable.” At night, while the Ideas Lab lights dimmed and the rainforest breeze rustled outside, #Spotty would quietly connect and reflect with her "you tube channel podcast" and upload her day’s discoveries to the #CAVE network of researchers around the world. #Spotty will become a bridge between AI and action, between innovation and impact. And so, #Spotty’s story continued. Not in a sterile lab or lonely warehouse, but in the heart of the #tropics, where bright minds and brave bots co-design the future. She wasn’t just #Spot anymore. She was #GreenSpotty of the North, explorer, teammate, and the most beloved new member of the JCU Ideas Lab family.
