    Biography

    Phoebe Arbon is a Senior Researcher and Lecturer at James Cook University, specialising in Aquatic Animal Health. Her research and teaching focus on sustainable practices and biosecurity in tropical aquaculture, with a particular emphasis on viral pathogen detection and management in shrimp farming. Phoebe is interested in advancing aquaculture resilience through innovative approaches, such as molecular diagnostics, genetic tools, and machine learning applications for aquaculture systems. Beyond her academic role, Phoebe serves as a Queensland Biosecurity Ambassador, advocating for biosecurity awareness though active engagement with the community.
