Dr. Fanny A. Yasumaru is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Science and Technology at James Cook University, Singapore campus. Her expertise is in the field of aquaculture nutrition, mainly in vivo and in vitro digestion of nutrients in marine and freshwater species, such as whiteleg shrimp, tilapia, rainbow trout, and cobia. She has also conducted studies on feed formulation for mud crab and managed research trials for private companies using Asian sea bass and hybrid grouper. She serves at the editorial board of the journal Critical Insights in Aquaculture and ad hoc reviewer for aquaculture and fisheries journals, e.g., Aquaculture, Aquaculture Research, Fisheries Science, and Reviews in Fisheries Science and Aquaculture. She is the student director (2022-2025) for the Asian-Pacific Chapter of the World Aquaculture Society (WAS-APC). Her research interest includes nutrient digestibility, sustainable feed ingredients, and seafood as part of a healthy diet, sustainable ingredients.
