Journal Contribution ResearchOnline@JCUAbstract
[Extract] The travel industry's tremendous increase in products for the steadily growing senior market has also created opportunities for people with dementia to enjoy travel while they can. However, this population is still largely ignored in the travel health literature, and little can be found apart from checklists for caregivers by dementia organizations. This new book fills that gap perfectly. The author, an advanced practice nurse with over 30 years' experience in aging and dementia care (trav-alz.com), has put together a book packed with helpful advice focusing on possibilities, not just the usual obstacles. It is particularly relatable as it considers the experiences of the travelling person and of their caregivers, and assists caregivers in expected and actual challenges before, during and after a trip
