Journal Contribution ResearchOnline@JCUBauer, Irmgard L.
Abstract
[Extract] As life expectancy increases, the aging population increases, andwith it, age-related illnesses including dementia. By 2030, 66million people are expected to live with dementia worldwide. Most people living with dementia are cared for by informal (unpaid) caregivers, usually adult children or spouses who areolder or even elderly themselves. The literature provides ampleevidence of 'caregiver burden',due to various factors relatingto caregiver and care recipient.
