Abstract

A review of seven microbotanical fossil types and their applications in landscape archaeology is presented. We focus on physical characteristics, particularly those that may affect microfossil preservation, as well as type and level of information each microfossil type can be expected to provide. A list of seven microfossil types is by no means exhaustive, but it incorporates the more widely used plant remains associated with archaeological study.
