Biography

Peter Hu is a psychotherapist and scholar whose work bridges clinical insight with systemic thinking. He holds a Master of Counselling from Flinders University, where he received the Best Overall Performer Award at the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, and Master’s levels, and is a certified Transactional Analysis Practitioner with the North American Transactional Analysis Association.

Originally graduating in economics from Yale University on a Monetary Authority of Singapore undergraduate scholarship, Peter has worked across finance, entrepreneurship, international law enforcement research, and the mental health sector. His career has involved producing analyses for markets and regulatory decision-making, venture building, authoring operational guidance on cross-border threats such as terrorist financing and human trafficking, and supporting inter-agency collaboration and strategy in Singapore’s mental health landscape.

His interests include LGBTQ+ affirmative practice, dream analysis, and the psychodynamics of interpersonal and organisational life. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Health) at James Cook University Singapore. This research is conducted in collaboration with the Singapore Civil Defence Force. The study employs qualitative research methods to examine organisational systems and practices.
