Biography

I have more than 25 years of experience working in sport and exercise settings. I trained in movement analysis and exercise physiology and received my PhD from James Cook University in 2008. I have undertaken research in stabilisation & fatigue rates during dynamic movement. I also undertake research in exercise intervention for healthy populations and those with chronic disease.

I specialise in exercise for older women. I have a particular interest in exercise participation for improving the health and well-being of postmenopausal women. My research is predominantly conducted in North Queensland and incorporates physiological and psychosocial interventions.

Currently my teaching is research and evidence-based in the Sport and Exercise Science Discipline. This includes a research project subject for third year students and a clinical exercise physiology subject for fourth year students. My teaching-research nexus continues with the supervision of honours and higher degree research students.
