Biography
Dr. Erik Biros is a well-established academic at James Cook University’s College of Medicine and Dentistry and serves as Program Manager for the national KidGen consortium. With over 20 years of pioneering research in vascular diseases, kidney genomics, and chronic disease management, he has authored 145 peer-reviewed publications, received 3641 citations, and secured competitive funding from organisations such as the Heart Foundation, NHMRC, Queensland Government, and industry partner VariantBio. Recognised internationally as an Adjunct Research Fellow at Tel-Aviv University, Dr. Biros’s interdisciplinary contributions and mentorship of emerging researchers highlight his leadership in advancing medical science and health equity, especially for First Nations communities.
