Unravelling the genetic architecture of black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) production traits through development and utilisation of novel genomic resources

Jarrod Guppy studied the genome of the Australian black tiger prawn. By building and applying advanced genomic tools, he pinpointed the regions of the prawn's genome responsible for its sex and size. These findings pave the way for advanced selective breeding programs that will rapidly enhance prawn farming productivity.
