Abstract
Five species of Rhizophora, Bruguiera and Ceriops are examined for their phenology, but notes on activity times for other species also given. Litter fall, growth and reproduction were recorded, suggesting that vegetative and floral cycles are coordinated. Flowering was mostly in the dry summer (Sept-Dec) and drop their fruit in the wettest months (c. February), but reflect a mix of peak activity months. For detailed species in the Rhizophoraceae, estimates of leaf longevity made and there are suggestions that the floral and vegetative cycles are coordinated.
