Influenza and Pneumococcal Vaccination in Cancer Patients in a NQ Tertiary Referral Hospital.

Cancer patients are at higher risk of morbidity and mortality from influenza and pneumococcal infections. There is strong evidence that cancer patients are under vaccinated due to patient, healthcare professional and health organisation barriers. Pharmacists have had an increase role in vaccinating the population through community pharmacies and has seen a large positive uptake. This project will assess the perceptions of cancer patients and healthcare professionals working in a cancer unit on a potential pharmacist led vaccination clinic.
