Description
Our project aims to better understand the biodiversity and trophic pathways linked to GMY coastal and deepwater seagrass meadows. This project will generate valuable data on the links between benthic habitats, biodiversity, food webs and culturally important megafauna in our sea Country. Building off our GMY-led seagrass baseline mapping and drone-based megafauna projects, we will use stable isotopes together with megafauna tagging to construct a holistic vision of marine ecosystem function and biodiversity that will underpin a long-term sustainable plan for sea Country management. We will explore, where possible, economic opportunities such as sustainable tourism ventures.
