ASCILITE funded $5000 AUD - General Academic award in 2025 for the project " Generative AI (GenAI) and Student Equity in Higher Education: Unpacking Uneven Impacts Across Equity Cohorts". This project investigates how generative AI (GenAI) technologies may unevenly impact equity students in higher education. Drawing on the lived experiences of student-facing staff across four Australian universities, the study explores how GenAI can both enhance and hinder access, engagement, and inclusion for students from equity cohorts. Through a cross-institutional survey, the research will identify barriers, enablers, and ethical considerations in GenAI adoption. Findings will inform the development of inclusive guidelines and personas, contributing to institutional policy and professional practice that promote equity, belonging, and responsible AI use in digital learning environments.
