Children of parents with mental illness are at a greater risk of developing a mental illness. Good mental health is an important foundation for the good life. More and more people today are living with mental illness, which is why more children are also expected to grow up in families with at least one parent with mental illness. The report has the following purpose: 1) to examine whether children of parents with at least one psychiatric diagnosis have an increased incidence of remarks from the health care provider to health, development and well-being in the first year of life compared to the children of parents who do not have a psychiatric diagnosis; 2) to examine the importance of whether it is mother, father or both parents who have at least one psychiatric diagnosis, for the occurrence of comments from the health care provider for the health, development and well-being of the child in the first year of life.
