Mater Private Hospital Townsville - Phase 2 Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, Established and developed a partnership with Mater Private Hospital Townsville Cardiac Rehabilitation Services to support the development of their Phase II Cardiac Rehabilitation Program as a student-led healthcare service. This work created authentic clinical learning opportunities for Exercise Physiology students, increased exposure to an area of practice otherwise limited in the curriculum, and supported industry partners in delivering high-quality cardiac rehabilitation care to the community. The collaboration contributed to the Mater Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation Program receiving the Mercy Quality Improvement Award in 2019 and being recognised as a finalist in the 2018 Exercise & Sports Science Australia Industry Awards.
