Biography

Praveen Yerramothu, PhD is a postdoctoral research fellow at The Queensland Research Center for Peripheral Vascular Disease (QRC-PVD), James Cook University. After completing his PhD from The University of New South Wales (2018), Australia, he worked at the Center for Advanced Vision Science, School of Medicine University of Virginia, USA (2018-2023), as a research scientist studying the role of inflammasomes in macular degeneration, multiple sclerosis and alzheimers disease. Praveen joined QRC-PVD in October 2024 to lead multiple projects to repurpose TGA approved drugs for the treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms and peripheral vascular disease. He specialises in working with translational mouse models, human samples, cell culture studies, molecular biology techniques, and histology.
