Biography
Dr. Mohammad Azim is a highly esteemed professional with a distinguished career spanning over 23 years in academia. He has held positions at prestigious institutions such as the Australian National University, University of Canberra, University of South Australia, University of Adelaide, Swinburne University of Technology, CQ University, and currently serves as a faculty member at James Cook University. Moreover, he has also contributed his expertise to renowned international universities, including the University of Dhaka, North South University, National University of Vietnam, and Hong Kong Baptist University.
Dr. Azim's extensive qualifications include being a Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ), Certified Public Accountant (CPA, Australia), and a qualified Cost and Management Accountant (CMA, Australia). Through active engagement with prominent accounting bodies, he has further fortified his expertise in the field. Driven by his passion for research, he has made significant contributions, boasting an impressive portfolio of over 50 published studies. Many of his research works have been featured in top-tier international journals, attesting to their exceptional quality and relevance.
In recognition of his exceptional teaching methodology, Dr. Azim has been honored with prestigious accolades such as the Quality Teaching Award from the Australian National University, Swinburne University of Technology, and the University of South Australia. Going beyond teaching, he has demonstrated his dedication to student mentorship by successfully supervising numerous Ph.D., Masters by research, and Honors students, ensuring their timely completion of their degrees. Additionally, Dr. Azim actively participates as an examiner for Ph.D. theses, both domestically and internationally, contributing to the rigorous evaluation process within the academic community.
With a robust research profile, Dr. Azim has authored three research books and two research monographs, highlighting his substantial contributions to scholarly work. His publications have garnered recognition in reputable journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Intellectual Capital, Public Money & Management, Managerial Auditing Journal, Australian Accounting Review, Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal, and International Journal of Accounting and Information Management, among others. The impact of his research is evident from his remarkable Google Scholar citations of 1792, accompanied by an h-index of 18 and an i-10 index of 25. Dr. Azim also serves as an ad hoc reviewer for several esteemed journals, including the British Accounting Review, Australian Journal of Management, Managerial Auditing Journal, Accounting Forum, Asian Review of Accounting, Journal of Accounting and Organizational Changes, and numerous others.
Beyond his scholarly achievements, Dr. Azim's leadership capabilities shine through various roles he has undertaken within academia. These roles include Director of research center, Deputy Head of the Group, Discipline Leader (Accounting), Program Director (MPA and MPracAcc), Research Seminar Coordinator, and International Conference Session Chair. His professional qualifications have facilitated collaborative partnerships with esteemed professional bodies. Dr. Azim actively contributes to the field by serving on technical committees and fostering strong relationships with professional bodies in Australia and across international boundaries.
