Matthias Cheong

Matthias Cheong graduated from the Singapore Management University with a Bachelor of Business Management, with a specialisation in International Finance and Marketing. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Western Australia, and was named a Tracey Horton Scholar in light of his academic achievements. Matthias has more than 15 years of experience in industry and was previously Director of Fixed Income at S&P Global (Singapore), managing global operations for credit derivatives across APAC and EMEA, and leading a team to anticipate risk, manage volatility, and drive growth in dynamic markets. He also teaches a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Strategy, Economics, Marketing, and Finance. Matthias is presently pursuing a PhD at Swinburne University of Technology, researching on the impact of sanctions on financial markets.
