Biography
- Utilising purposeful technology-enabled learning to facilitate learner flexibility and encourage self-directed exploration.
- Advocating for the flipped classroom model as a participatory learning strategy. This not only boosts individual learner engagement but also fosters teamwork and collaboration among students.
- Integrating scenario-based inquiry and practice-based learning strategies into assessments. This approach deepens understanding and equips students with the ability to apply clinical reasoning in authentic contexts.
Lisa has cultivated strong community relationships, creating unique opportunities for work-integrated learning for health professional students. She has successfully led student-led healthcare services within both community and hospital settings. Notably, her collaboration with Mater Private Hospital earned her team the 2016 Mercy Quality Improvement Award for their student-led Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. Furthermore, Lisa has established new clinical placement arrangements with Townsville Hospital Community Mental Health Services, facilitating role-emerging placements in secure and youth mental health programs.
Lisa's impact extends beyond the classroom. She is an active contributor to the Health Professional Education field, with her research garnering international attention. Currently, she is leading the development of a performance framework for evaluating clinical placement and healthcare service delivery within the context of student-led healthcare services. Her dedication to improving education and healthcare delivery is evident in both her academic contributions and practical initiatives.
