    Biography

I am a Lecturer in Information Technology and Co-Lead for the Communities Impact domain at the Centre for AI and Data Science Innovation (CADSI) at James Cook University (JCU). I am a learning sciences researcher focused on improving student performance through the integration of digital technologies and evidence-based teaching models. My research spans Artificial Intelligence, Learning Analytics, Natural Language Processing, Digital Twins, and nudge technologies. I pursue qualitative and mixed-methods examining adult student engagement in online and blended learning environments in higher education.

I serve as a Functional Director for the Association for Information Systems (AIS) Special Interest Group on Education and as Co-Chair of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) Cairns Chapter. I previously served as Co-Director of the Queensland AI Hub Townsville Chapter, supporting community AI upskilling in the Cairns region through JCU’s Founder-in-Residence portfolio. I am also a mentor in the Women in Professional Leadership and Community Mentoring Program as part of the Australasian Society for Computers in Learning in Tertiary Education (ASCILITE), and co-founded the JCU Women in IT student support group in Cairns.
