    Biography

    Kara is an occupational therapist and occupational therapy lecturer within the College of Healthcare Sciences at James Cook University, Australia.  Kara graduated as an occupational therapist from the University of Queensland in 2000.  Since graduation she has worked in a variety of clinical, mentoring and academic roles.  Kara has a strong clinical interest in paediatrics within home, school and community contexts and working with individuals with disabilities within home and community settings.  Supporting new graduates and occupational therapy students within work and practice placement contexts has developed as an additional area of interest for Kara, which has led her to her current teaching role as a lecturer within the occupational therapy course at James Cook University.
