Biography

Guo Chen is a design researcher with a dual background in design and socio-cultural studies, specializing in integrating design thinking, religious color culture, and tourism. With over 13 years of experience in design, he focuses on contemporary expressions and sustainable preservation of traditional culture through cross-cultural collaboration and innovative practice. In 2020, he joined the Stanford-led ME310/SUGAR Global Design Innovation Program, working with Melbourne Design Factory and other international labs to address global sustainability challenges. His current research explores how virtual reality technology can be applied to Chinese cultural heritage projects, aiming to revitalize and preserve intangible traditions through digital innovation.
