Eijaz Khan

Biography

Eijaz is an Adjunct Faculty at James Cook University and a Senior Lecturer at the Curtin Business School, Curtin University, Australia. Before joining Curtin University, he was the Academic Head of Governance, Management and Tourism, and a Senior Lecturer at the College of Business, Law and Governance, James Cook University. He holds a PhD in Strategy from Curtin University, Australia; an MBA in Strategy from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand; and an MBA and BBA from the University of Dhaka.

He has also held academic positions at the University of Sydney, the University of Technology Sydney, Melbourne Institute of Technology, Asia Pacific International College, and Khulna University. Eijaz’s main research expertise and interests include the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), strategy, sustainability, the circular economy, entrepreneurship, innovation, and supply chain management. His teaching interests span strategy, entrepreneurship, innovation, project management, and supply chain management.

With more than $98,793 in secured research funding, he has published papers in leading journals such as the Journal of Cleaner Production, Journal of Business & Industrial Marketing, Global Journal of Flexible Systems Management, Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing and Logistics, Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, Education + Training, and the International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management, as well as the Entrepreneurship Research Journal. He has presented his research at numerous academic conferences.

Currently, he serves on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Management & Organization and the Journal of Family Business Management, and is a member of the Academy of Management (AOM), the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM), and the Small Enterprise Association of Australia and New Zealand (SEAANZ).

Statement of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Teaching

Eijaz implements strategies to integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion in education across regions by understanding students' cultural backgrounds, fostering appreciation for their values and traditions. He encourages icebreaker activities where students share personal backgrounds on discussion boards, creating a sense of community. He cultivates an inclusive classroom by recognising and celebrating cultural holidays and significant events, enhancing awareness and belonging. He adapts teaching to diverse learning preferences, accommodating both collectivist and individualist orientations. He provides targeted support for non-native speakers to ensure equal opportunities for success. He designs assessments that allow students to showcase their cultural heritage while maintaining fairness and inclusivity. By fostering open communication and adapting teaching methods to diverse needs, he creates a learning environment that honours and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring all students feel valued and empowered to succeed.
