Biography
Barry Tse is a PhD candidate in Health at James Cook University, where his research centres on the psychology of religion, particularly the development of a culturally sensitive scale to assess Buddhist religiosity across traditions. His broader academic interests span mindfulness, social psychology, leadership, organisational behaviour, and consumer psychology.
He brings over 30 years of experience in market research, having led multinational projects across Asia-Pacific, Africa, Europe, and North America. His consultancy work has guided major brands in consumer insights, brand strategy, and sensory evaluation, with a special focus on the Greater China region.
Barry holds an MSc in Psychology, an MBA, and a BBus in Tourism, and has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM). Trained by the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation, he delivers mindfulness-based programs within the MBCT framework, integrating contemplative practices into mental health and organisational contexts.
