Biography

I am deeply passionate about Research Impact, particularly supporting researchers to plan for and effectively communicate the significance of their work. I also have a strong commitment to Early Career Researcher Development and to creating pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students into research careers, something we have actively pursued at The Cairns Institute through the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cadetship program, which I oversee.

Following my role managing the Griffith University project ‘An Incomplete Project’: Australians’ views of the US Alliance, I now manage a second round of funding administered through the Australian National University, focused on Deterrence. This Department of Defence-funded project, running through to 2027, is a multi-institutional collaboration between the Australian National University, Australian Catholic University, Deakin University, the University of Cambridge, and the University of Massachusetts. I lead this project alongside my ongoing role at JCU.

I am an accredited Project Manager with the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) and hold tertiary qualifications in Business (Marketing), Psychology, and Project Management. With over 7 years of experience in higher education, I have held diverse roles including International Marketing, Digital Engagement, and Research Project Management.

Currently, I am the Research Manager at The Cairns Institute, James Cook University, where I oversee a comprehensive research program dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for tropical communities. My background includes strategic planning, analytical problem-solving, and effective communication, enabling me to lead cross-functional teams and deliver results under pressure. My commitment to continuous self-improvement ensures valuable contributions to team success and project growth.
